Little Mix praise ‘incredible’ Lucy Spraggan – advise her to play on her ‘originality’

Little Mix have offered some sage words of advice to X Factor hopeful Lucy Spraggan.

The girl group became the first band to ever win the show last year, under the guidance of their mentor Tulisa Contistavlis, and in a new interview they revealed that they have been watching the new episodes and one person in particular has stood out for them.

The ladies really enjoyed Lucy Spraggan’s audition a few week’s back and loved her ‘beer fear’ song titled ‘Last Night.’

The 21 year old singer from Sheffield impressed the judging panel with her own song ‘Last Night’ when she tried out for the ITV show and on a recent episode the judges were seen raving about the talented singer, after the audience gave her a standing ovation and one of the longest cheers we’ve ever heard.

Gary Barlow gushed:

“I loved your song, what a fantastic songwriter you are!”

Last Night had previously been released as a single and was soon rocketing up the iTunes chart, breaking the top ten and at one point threatening to knock Little Mix off the top spot. X factor bosses later ordered her to remove it from online stores.

Perrie, Jade, Jesy and Leigh-Anne think that was the right decision

“If you’re involved in the competition you can’t have anything out, that’s just the rules, but she’s going to have many records when she leaves The X Factor anyway, so she’s got nothing to worry about,” Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne told The Star.

She added: “She’s incredible. We watched her audition and she’s so clever.”

The singer also offered some advice to Lucy and said that she needs to stay true to herself to succeed. She continued:

“My advice would be to just stay humble and grounded. Don’t change and keep doing what she’s doing, because her act is so original and I think she’ll definitely do very well.

“She’s got a good chance. I think she’s brilliant. She should continue writing her own songs and bringing that originality to the competition, I think she’ll be fine.”

Little Mix are riding high at the moment, after their single ‘Wings’ topped the UK single charts for two weeks running. The ladies have recently announced their own headline tour for 2013.
