Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson was seen mocking Rebecca Ferguson’s new single ‘I Hope’ in a behind-the-scenes video from The X Factor USA, with Perrie Edwards cracking up at her impression – and it’s come to the attention of R-Fergz herself.
Writing on Twitter, the Liverpool-based songbird calmly reminded the four-piece girlband that “it’s nice to be nice”.
But responding to them on Twitter, she wrote: “Arrr so nice to see they had time to pay tribute to my single I hope just before they went on u.s xfactor little munchkins 😉 cute!”
She added: “Its nice to be nice so ladies stay classy and keep your heart right xxx”
The whole thing is a little awkwardly-timed… as it was literally just last night that she told EntertainmentWise how big a fan she is of the girlband’s music.
“You know what I don’t know [Perrie], but I’m a big fan of Little Mix,” she told us at the Cosmopolitan Awards.
Little Mix themselves were also at the event, having pre-recorded the X Factor USA performance which aired last night.
In their behind-the-scenes video, the girls are seen talking about getting ready for the sing-song, before the use of the phrase “I hope” inspires Jesy to her impression of Rebecca. Rebecca, of course, briefly dated Perrie’s fiance Zayn Malik of One Direction.
‘I Hope’ is taken from the former X Factor runner-up’s new album Freedom, which was released earlier this week.
