Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards are said to be worried that they will never be able to set a date for their wedding, according to a recent report.
The One Direction star proposed to his Little Mix girlfriend last month, having dated for just over a year and both were said to be elated that they’d finally committed to one another officially.
Insiders say the couple were hoping to tie the knot this Christmas, before Zayn’s Where We Are world stadium tour takes him half way around the globe again, but it’s been claimed that they can’t seem to find a date that works for everyone and fits with both their work schedule, which has left Perrie in a state of despair.
A source told Star magazine that as yet the date for their nuptials is very much ‘up in the air’ with it looking more and more likely that the ceremony will have to be postponed to June 2014 at the very earliest.
Edwards wants to tie the knot long before then but may not be able to make it work and an insider told the magazine:
“They’ve had to discuss waiting until next June, although neither of them wants to wait.”
The ‘DNA’ hitmaker is said to be distraught and disheartened by the recent turn of events, with the insider adding that she feels like everything is working ‘against’ her and Zayn right now. They continued:
“Perrie has confided that she sometimes feels like the odds are stacked against them and that they’re never going to find a date that works for everyone. Everything is up in the air.”
Zayn jets off to Australia this week and the last leg of his Take Me Home tour begins in Adelaide on 23rd September. Perrie has spent much of the month in Japan or in the rceording studio working on Little Mix’s second album, so the couple haven’t had as much quality time with one another as they would have hoped.
The insider said that both stars are dreading the next few months and their forced separation and explained:
“Zayn and Perrie are dreading having to spend the next couple of months apart while One Direction tour Australia and New Zealand.”
They had wanted to be married by the end of 2013 but it’s looking unlikely that there will be time to organise a dress, a venue, a star studded reception and a perfect ceremony since Zayn will only be back in the country in November and then he’ll be launched straight into promoting 1D’s third album which is released that month.
“They ideally want to be married by Christmas, preferably in an exotic location, and Zayn has promised money is no object – there’s talk of a £1 million budget,” the insider claims.
However Zayn and Perrie’s families are happy for them to wait and it was reported:
“Everyone hoped that Perrie and Zayn would have a long engagement because marriage is such a big step at their age. Their families are reassuring them there’s no need to rush and they have their whole lives ahead of them.”
