After performing at the Isle of Wight festival, heat managed to grab Little Mix (who were all looking tiny and very co-ordinated in black and white) for a little chinwag about collaborating with One Direction and all things Tulisa…
Aside from Little Mix taking the world by storm, they seem to have picked up a few celeb fans on the way too – namely Emma Bunton – who was in the crowd watching their performance. Perrie Edwards told us, “I’m glad I only found out after because if I knew she was watching I would have been really nervous! My mum saw her and said she knew all the words. I was like,’ aww she must-have the album!’”
George Shelley from Union J may have had a food fight with the cake from Jesy Nelson’s London birthday celebrations, but she made the most of her American birthday slash celebrating-US-success-party. She said, “We had a party! It was a joint party for America and my birthday it was lovely – we boogied the night away and had really good fun!”
We couldn’t resist asking if the girls were going to collaborate with One Direction in the future, given Perrie’s relationship with Zayn Malik from the band. Jade Thirlwall told us, “Maybe, you never know!” We choose to assume that means yes!
The girls have previously had trouble in America as the public couldn’t make out their varied accents. Leigh-Ann Pinnock told us, “I think the first trip we had was a little bit difficult the second time was a little easier, they were more used to us and we slowed down.” Perrie said, “When we were doing radio interview s and our fans were there they would translate for us – the radio presenter would be like, ‘what?’ and are fans would be like:’ she saidddd..’”
We also asked if the girls had spoken to Tulisa following the allegations that she fixed drug deals. Jade told us, “You know, we speak to her now and then but to be honest we’re supportive of her no matter what and it’s not really our business to talk about.
Another person who has been behind Little Mix all the way is a certain Mr Simon Cowell. Leigh-Ann told us, “He’s been so supportive, he wrote us a letter and when we got into the top 4 he sent us 25 bottles of champagne!” Perrie added, “He said he was proud of us and happy that we’ve stayed grounded!”
