Having been together for three years as a band – and of course, having become a global phenomenon – the lads of One Direction, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne, know a thing or two about crowd pleasing…
And it’s been revealed today that the boys have shared a few pearls of wisdom with former X Factor winners Little Mix about how to make it in the music biz.
Speaking to US magazine Seventeen, Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock explained, “I asked the boys from One Direction how to make it in America…
“They basically said, ‘Be yourself and you can’t go wrong’.”
Leigh-Anne – who is joined in Little Mix by Zayn Malik’s girlfriend Perrie Edwards in addition to singers Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall – added, “[They said] ‘People know when you’re trying to be someone you’re not. Just be true to who you are.’
“So that’s what we’ve been doing!’”
Jade then revealed that Spice Girls star Emma Bunton had a few words of advice for the girls too.
She said, “When we met the Spice Girls, Emma Bunton told us to keep being friends because that’s the connection fans love you for.”
Little Mix are of course set to release their debut album DNA in America on May 28, and it’s widely expected that the album will shoot up the charts…
And of course, the girls have already come to the attention of American rapper Missy Elliot, who features on LM’s latest single, How Ya Doin?
Of that, Jesy previously said, “We honestly can’t believe that Missy is on our song! She’s been one of our biggest idols for ever – it’s incredible.
“As soon as we thought there might be a chance she’d appear on the track we did literally everything we could to make sure it happened.”
