Little Mix have promised to support Tulisa Contostavlos “no matter what” following the singer’s recent arrest over claims she was involved in a cocaine deal earlier this month.
The ‘Wings’ singers were mentored by the N-Dubz star on The X Factor in 2011 with the five-piece girl band going on to become the first group ever to win the talent competition.
With Little Mix taking over America and Tulisa launching her solo career and taking part in the ITV show for a second series last year, contact between the two camps have waned but the band say they will always be there for their former mentor.
“We talk to her every now and again we will suport her no matter what bt its not really our business to talk about,” Tulisa told EntertainmentWise at the Isle of Wight festival last weekend.
Tulisa, 24, was taken into police custody two weeks ago after an undercover reporter claimed she had arranged a drug deal for them with her friend, Mike GLC. The ‘Young’ singer has been bailed and is believed to be residing her Hertfordshire mansion.
Meanwhile, Little Mix have recently returned from America where their debut album ‘DNA’ soared in at number four on the Billboard charts and despite their fame increasing in the US, the group insist that they will not be conforming to typical Los Angeles standards.
“We eat whatever we want,” the band told us. “If anything our US fans who we have gained through YouTube love us for who we are, so when we got there we could be ourselves, and if they like us then great.”
Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall may all be loved-up and smitten with their boyfriends but the foursome say they have no plans to settle down and start a family like The Saturdays, three of whom are now mothers.
