Little Mix make X Factor Greatest Hits CD TWICE along with 1D, JLS & more..

A jewellery company has lost a legal battle with media mogul Simon Cowell after trying to launch a range of charms called Little Mix.

Cowell’s company Syco called in lawyers after SGI Jewellery, based in Greengairs, near Airdrie, launched the product with the same name as the girl group.

Sharon Gallacher, 43, the owner of SGI, had claimed the charms were not related to group, which won The X Factor in 2011.

The dispute began when Mrs Gallacher, who runs the business from her home, applied to register the name for a new range of jewellery.

Cowell’s label, which represents the band, launched a legal action to oppose the trademark application. It accused SGI of trying to cash in on the fame of the band and claimed SGI had decided to launch the range only after the band appeared on the ITV talent show.

The UK Intellectual Property Office, which rules on trademark disputes, has now found in Cowell’s favour and told SGI it cannot use the name to market its products. SGI also been ordered to pay Cowell’s company £2200 in legal fees.

Mrs Gallacher, 43, said: “I gave evidence for an hour and a half and thought I had done enough. The name was chosen for a new charm collection because they are both ‘little’ and a mixture of different things, nothing more.”

However, trademark hearing officer Mark Bryant said:”The evidence points to the applicant filing the application with the sole purpose of benefitting from the success of the band.”

Little Mix Respond To Katie Hopkins' Tweet About Their Weight During 'X Factor' Performance

Little Mix have responded to Katie Hopkins, who targeted the girl group over their weight in an offensive tweet during ‘X Factor’ on Sunday night.

Fans of the 2011 ‘X Factor’ winners were shocked when the controversial Hopkins tweeted:

“Packet Mix have still got a chubber in their ranks. Less Little Mix. More Pick n Mix.”

Sticking up for her bandmates, Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall tells The Huffington Post UK: “I just think she [Hopkins] is a really sad person… I think it’s really sad that she has to try and find some kind of limelight by slating everyone else.”

Asked whether they think it’s the former ‘Apprentice’ star’s job to cause offence, Jade continues: “She wouldn’t have a job if she wasn’t horrible about people and I find that really sad. Can’t she just get a normal job and be nice about people?”

Little Mix’s loyal fans quickly sprang to the band’s defence during their ‘X Factor’ performance, so Hopkins then took aim at them too:

“Our fans are literally amazing, they will defend us till the day we die… to be honest they are what keep us strong,” Jesy Nelson tells us.

These tweets led to Katie responding saying:

“Little Mix have got some fans. Iccle angry girlie ones with rebellious piercings. And long socks.”

Little Mix to perform on X Factor Australia later on this month

Little Mix are heading back to Australia in just a few short weeks – they’ll be here this month!

Perrie tweeted a while back,

“Hey mixers! We’re so excited to be coming back to Australia! We can’t wait to see all our amazing mixers in a few weeks! 😀 Perrie <3"

We’ve reached out to their Australian reps, and we can confirm that they will perform on The X Factor Australia on Monday October 21st most likely to perform their new single ‘Move’.

And that means they will be in Australia at the same time as One Direction. HOW EXCITING IS THAT!

The girls visited Australia around this time last year, and we’re pretty excited to have Jade, Leigh-Anne, Jesy and Perrie back on our shores.
