Exclusive - Little Mix's guitarist René Woollard talks touring with the girls!

Check out this exclusive interview with Little Mix’s tour guitarist René Woollard with Little Mix Brasil.

Well, how is working with Little Mix? For how long have you been with them?
“I’ve been playing with the girls since April / May last year. Last year was mostly promotion for their debut single Wings. Working with Little Mix is great fun. The whole team, the girls, management, record label, everyone is fantastic. Everyone is always happy.”

No doubts, the tour is a dream for Little Mix., But what about you? What does the “DNA Tour” means to you?
“For me, it’s another tour. I’ve been doing this for quite a while, but the difference this time is being part of the girl groups first ever tour. It’s amazing start to the year with the girls. For me, I think the “DNA” tour means new beginnings. A fresh start.”

Besides Little Mix, to Which artists have you worked?
“I hate answering this question! 😉 I’ve worked with Jessie J, Olly Murs, Misha B, Il Divo, The Saturdays, Tinchy Stryder, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Alesha Dixon, Jay Sean, Travie McCoy, Cheryl Cole and I’m also working with a fantastic new artist called Arlissa. I’m not sure if you know All Those people in Brazil, but I think that’s everyone.”

Little Mix has a lot of fans in Brazil and Portugal. Did you know that?
“I did not know that. I get a lot of tweets from people all over the place but most of Them are from Lithuania! Tell everyone in Brazil to follow @ renewoollard.”

How is the relationship between the girls, the band and the dancers?
“It’s amazing. Everyone gets along. I’m probably the quietest in the group. After the concert everyone is loud, Especially the dancers! They’re always excited and full of energy. I like time to myself after shows so I can relax, and think about the concert and my day.”

How would you describe Little Mix? Out of stages, who are Jesy, Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade?
“Little Mix Little Mix are. Everything you see When they’re on the TV, doing interviews, on stage … That is Them. What you see is what I see every day. Four, happy, sweet girls with a lot of talent enjoying themselves.”

What’s the best performance on the show? The most delightful song to play?
“It’s hard to choose a favorite song to play. I have a few. ‘Stereo Soldier’ is really fun because its upbeat. ‘Make You Believe’ is a favorite of mine because I get to play a little solo at the end. I love ‘Turn Your Face’ too even though I do not play that one. The girls voices sound beautiful.”

Which concert do you think it was the best so far?
“I can not I choose the best gig. They’re all different. Sometimes you play badly, but the crowds are amazing. Other times the performance is perfect but the fans aren’t so excited. But every show is good in some way. None have felt bad.”

Brazilian’s mixers are always trying to get attention from the girls, the band, and the dancers. Do you hope to come to Brazil? Is there any Possibility of that happening soon?
“I would love to visit anywhere in South America. Especially Brazil. I was supposed to visit Chile about 5 years ago, but the concert was cancelled.”

We’re really thankful for this opportunity. Is there any message you would like to That give to Brazil?
“You’re very welcome. I do not think I have a message. Just thank you for noticing the rest of us. ;)”

DNA Tour Diaries - Little Mix get chased by paps in Glasgow

Want to know what it’s like to be followed by paps all the time…well Little Mix will explain to you in their recent video diary.

And also Jesy gives us a master class in Scottish accents..video’s below..

DNA Tour Day 9 - Little Mix rock the stage & cause havoc in Wolverhampton (with pics!)

  • Reviews

Kicking off with the thumping track We Are Who We Are, the girls bounded onto the stage bursting with energy and enthusiasm. Dressed in denim and cropped tops they oozed youthful exuberance coupled with some nifty dance moves and, most importantly, absolutely cracking voices.

As they rattled through their set the quality of their performance didn’t falter with Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade each bringing something individual to the mix.

They manage to combine a healthy dose of attitude with an innocence which even a year in relatively close proximity to Simon Cowell has so far failed to tarnish.

Taking a breather to talk to the audience the girls thanked their fans for putting them “where they are now” and seemed genuinely slightly overwhelmed by the warmth of the reception they were getting.

Before launching into Always Be Together, Jesy revealed she felt the other girls were “her sisters and her family”, while giant screens gave the audience a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the girls on tour. And some interview snippets giving insights into their favourite foods, shoes and pets were a sure-fire hit with their mainly young, female fans.

With so far only one album, DNA, to take their material from the girls mixed it up a bit with a medley of songs from some of the performers they say inspired them, like Destiny’s Child and Nicki Minaj.

And while some of their gentler tracks like Turn Your Face really let the girls show off their considerable vocal talents the crowd also proved to be in riotous voice with the more powerful Madhouse, Wings and Change Your Life.

Little Mix may have been born out of a TV talent show but they are growing into a class act.

Review - Little Mix slay on their DNA Tour in Wolverhampton

The girls were described as a class act by Express and Star newspaper who reviewed the Little Mix gig yesterday. Seems like the girls are getting nothing but praise from these reviews:

DNA Tour Day 2 - Videos & pictures from the second concert in Rhyl

Little Mix played to a packed 20,000 crowd at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, the venue is usually played on arena tours and not theatre tours hence why it is a much bigger venue.

The latest Little Mix news right here on LittleMixDaily.com - 4

It seems not everyone is a fan of Little Mix’s recent theatre tour, from the videos we’ve seen it looks like it’s a great tour but that’s not what The Guardian thinks.

The broadsheet attended the Glasgow gig a couple of days ago and posted this review..

A tough week for Little Mix began with Perrie Edwards – the former blonde one, now sporting a purple rinse – finding out that her boyfriend, One Direction’s Zayn, may have cheated on her. Then there was this gig – early in the 2011 X Factor winners’ long-time-coming debut headline tour. Even the most nascent of scholars among a predominately pre-teen audience must realise the numbers don’t add up. Jesy Nelson – the bubbly ex-barmaid one – is, “feeling a bit unwell,” and doesn’t show. Oh dear. Credit to the other three girls for performing regardless – they’re sincerely apologetic, and carry lopsided dance routines and harmonies professionally enough. But even were Little Mix at full strength, this presentation of a girl-band touted to become Britain’s biggest since the Spice Girls would still have been distinctly underwhelming. Nastily shrill sound quality doesn’t help balance out the din of thousands of screaming kids. Among several unflattering costumes, one ensemble resembles something that All Saints might have retired from their wardrobe circa 1998.

Wings is an entertainingly schizoid bubblegum-pop/90s r’n’b mash-up, and Always Be Together a high-sheen power ballad. Performed pre-encore, Little Mix’s debut album title track and best song, DNA, with its dirty synths, grinding beat and lyric about a boy whose kiss “contaminates my lips” finally tests cautiously U-certificate boundaries. So much else – How Ya Doin?, a tactless repurposing of De La Soul’s Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey), or the interstellar nonsense of Red Planet say – is tiresome filler. Mixers, as Little Mix fans are known, are dancing on their seats by the close, and a bumping remix of Wings. But so far as world-beating pop products go, several crucial components of this one are missing tonight – and not just Jesy..

    Rating: 2/5 stars

For every average review, there will always be another review that completely overshadows it; and this articles come from the Liverpool Echo. They gave the girls a fantastic review following their performance their yesterday…

Once upon a time, X Factor groups were doomed either to an early bath or an agonising second place.

Then likeable girl band Little Mix came along, showing off their vocal chops and building an army of fans week by week to clinch victory over soulful Scouser Marcus Collins.

With The Saturdays trying to break America, Stooshe’s album on hold and Girls Aloud still a few weeks off their comeback (or farewell) shows, they’re now arguably the UK’s premier girl group.

Their first UK tour is a neat mix of the covers that won them the X Factor (Superbass, E.T), combined with tracks from debut album DNA.

They bounce onto the stage in crop tops and baggy blue jeans for first song We Are Who We Are. All about inner beauty and confidence (“I’m gonna shine like a star, cause I’m the only me in this world”), it shares the themes of TLC’s Unpretty and Ugly by the Sugababes.

The influences from other bands are everywhere and they acknowledge their inspirations with a section showcasing the music of Destiny’s Child (Bootylicious), TLC (No Scrubs) and En Vogue (Don’t Let Go).

Most of the new songs (the rocky Make You Believe aside) are glossy R’n’ B-lite pop about the good advice your mum gave you and staying true to yourself.

On stage, they’re like a less streetwise TLC with girl next door appeal, crossed with the vocal harmonies of En Vogue – all carefully packaged for the Twitter generation.

It’s hard to believe Jesy, Leigh- Anne, Perrie and Jade entered the X Factor as solo artists when the moves are this slick – a chair routine with four male dancers for Latin-tinged slowie Going Nowhere is particularly effective.

Much of the audience is made up of pre-teens (accompanied by some weary-looking parents) and they lap up the energetic dancing – and the themes of friendship and believing in your own beauty that run throughout the show.

Video screens show the girls having fun on tour and later, there is skincare advice from Leigh-Anne and life lessons from Jesy.
It’s a solid launchpad for what looks set to be a long reign as our latest queens of pop.

    Rating: 9/10 stars
