Little Mix become brand ambassadors for Schwarzkopf hair products

Schwarzkopf have signed Little Mix as their new brand ambassadors to help promote their new LIVE Colour XXL range.

“We’re delighted to be working with Little Mix, not just because they look fabulous, but because they are fun, feisty and full of personality. They identify with young women and don’t believe one style fits all – that’s exactly what is at the heart of the Schwarzkopf LIVE Color XXL brand,” Ben Haxworth, UK marketing director for Henkel Beauty Care.

As part of the promotional campaign, the girls are allowing the Schwarzkopf LIVE Colour XXL team of colour experts to give them a makeover. On top of that, the girls are set to go through numerous marketing activities such as a radio promotion of Capital FM Radio and extensive media relations where the girls will share their hair coloring tips and advice.

Talking about the future, Haxworth added..

“The girls will be some of the first to try our brand new Ultra Brights shades – the most vibrant we’ve ever launched – so we’re really excited about seeing their final looks”

Little Mix themselves also had high hopes that the campaign will be a success.

“We love experimenting with hair colour and expressing ourselves through our look. In the past six months we have turned our heads red, blonde, brunette, honey, ebony, purple and blue!

The Schwarzkopf LIVE Color XXL shades are really vibrant and exciting, and are easy to use at home…We’ve had a sneak preview of the new Ultra Brights range and can’t wait to start using it.”

DNA Tour Day 15 - High Quality images and videos of Little Mix Live in London

We all know Little Mix have a great taste in fashion, they rock just about everything they wear and are seen as a style inspiration by thousands. But what inspires their current tour costumes?

The girls rocked Brighton yesterday wearing colour co-ordinated coloured tops. Showing off the most skin, Leigh-Anne, 21, wore a bralet decorated with graffiti style writing spelling out her name.

Wearing her dark hair down in side parting, the High Wycombe born singer completed her look with pale blue baggy jeans and pink trainers.

Jade, 20, wore her trademark braces over a long sleeved white crop top beautified with images of bows and music notes.

Jesy, 21, opted to keep her stomach covered up with a black T-shirt and she strutted along the stage in harem styled jeans.

Purple haired Perrie, 19, kept her tresses out of her face with the help of a pretty plait as she also paired her top with denim bottoms.

As Edwards led the group’s vocals, she showed off her perfectly manicured nails while accessorising with several charm bracelets.

Jade has previously explained being comfortable and colourful when it comes to their fashion are the girls’ best style tips.

She said:

“I would say if you like something then put it on, that is what we do and it works for us. The stylist team they wouldn’t let us go on stage unless you are comfortable. Be colourful too, we are all about bling and colour and having fun with clothes. Life is too short to be dressed in boring clothes all the time.”

Leighanne added:

“If you have got your own individual style then go for it and don’t let anyone tell you it’s wrong. Embrace it. We have all got our own styles and kept to who we are. I think that is really important.'”

Perrie talks to Teen Vogue about life after the X Factor

There certainly isn’t anything little about Little Mix. The four-piece Brit girl group composed of Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards were the first band ever to be crowned the winners of the X Factor UK. Since then, they’ve released their hit debut album DNA, soared to the top of the charts, and began to sell out a UK tour. Perrie Edwards took a note out of her jam-packed musical schedule to chat with Teen Vogue about the group’s distinctive sound, the advice One Direction gave them (Zayn Malik happens to be her boy toy) and their determination to take on the world—one little mixer at a time!

Is it hard to believe that it’s only been two years since you’ve won the X Factor?
“Oh gosh, yes! It’s been going really fast and it’s scary, but it’s so amazing! We’re doing a tour, and then we’ve just got loads of promo and everything like that. A lot is coming up and it’s so exciting.”

What exactly is the Little Mix sound? Can you describe the style of your debut album?
“It’s a mix of everything. Our album is full of both fun and meaningful songs, there’s something on there for everyone: fast songs that you prefer when you need to go out with all of your girlfriends, or you can put it on when you’re getting ready, and then emotional songs too. We’ve all got massive tastes in music! Jesy is into R&B, Leigh-Anne likes old school slow jams, and Jade is into all different kinds of things. So, it’s good because it merges everything together for the album.”

Where did your love of music come from? Did you always want to be a singer?
“I definitely always wanted to be a singer and a performer. I think I got it from my parents because my dad’s a singer and my mom’s a singer, so it kind of runs in the family and I just thought it was normal. But, I never really had the confidence to do it until my mom made me go on the show. I’m glad for my mom making me do the X Factor.”

How has life changed since you and Zayn Malik have become a couple and Little Mix has gained international success?
“It’s quite scary to be all over the papers and to be on the front pages of the magazines. It’s hard, but it’s something that just comes with the territory in the industry and after a while you get used to it. Lucky for us, we’re in a girl group, so I’ve got three other girls to fall back on!”

You have such a fun and playful style! Do you have any shopping favorites?
“I like vintage shops mainly, because then you can get one-of-a-kind pieces. I love Topshop and I love American Apparel, things like that. I also love Urban Outfitters! When I was in New York and went to Urban Outfitters, I honestly nearly died because of how good it was.”

Can you share any crazy fan stories from being on the road?
“I wouldn’t say crazy, but I’d say we do have a lot of moments where we’re all overwhelmed by the reaction of how many fans there are. When we pull out of venues and they’re all standing there, it’s really amazing for us to have that fan base. Our fans are just so amazing and supportive! We’re really thankful.”

What advice do you have for those trying to make it in the industry?
“I’d say just go for it, because you never know. I didn’t want to go for the X Factor because I just thought people were going to laugh and take me off the stage. You just got to go for it because what’s the worst that can happen?”

Have the boys from One Direction given you any post X Factor advice?
“Especially after the X Factor, they all gave us advice. They just said, ‘You have to enjoy what you do and you have to be confident. You have to work your bum off and just go for it because it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. The day that you stop enjoying it is the day that it’s going to get hard for you.’ But we’re just loving it, so we’re really thankful for everything.”

Where do you see Little Mix in ten years?
“Hopefully Little Mix will be as successful as we possibly can be, and we’re hoping we do get a chance to go international and come to America. It’s going to be hard work to get there, but we’re willing to work for it!”

17 Minutes with Little Mix - The girls talk the US magazine Seventeen

The Little Mix girls sat down with Seventeen Magazine in what has been described as their first US interview to talk about music, style and of course boys…

1) Little Mix On Avoiding Drama
Perrie: “Being in a girl group, we might bicker a lot about hair dryers or straighteners, but it’s never serious. We’ve been lucky that we get along so much, it’s like having three other sisters to party with every day—it’s fun!”

2) Little Mix On Being Honest In Their “DNA”
Perrie: “When a girl first gets with a boy, that kind of romance makes you feel really giddy and happy. That’s what “DNA” is about…Everything on the album is about our own experiences. We perform better when the lyrics mean something to us when we sing them.”

3) Leigh-Anne’s Secret To Feeling Fearless
Leigh: “I used to be the shyest little thing ever. The thing that brought out my confidence is being in this group with these girls.. Being around them has brought out the best in me. [If you struggle with feeling confident], my tip is to surround yourself with positive people and good friends.”

4) Leigh-Anne’s Style Inspiration: Will Smith In The ’90s
Leigh: “I describe my style as urban and street. I’m really influenced by the ’80s and ’90s, like The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. I wear lots of color. I also love Timberlands. Timberlands are my favorite think in the world.”

5) Jesy On Little Mix’s Dating Standards
“We all have boyfriends…We’re not about letting boys take advantage of girls. We wear the trousers in our relationships. None of us have ever done anything crazy for a boy.”

6) Jesy’s Tip For Feeling Amazing Every Single Day
“If you want to wear something, all that matters is that you love it, not what other people think. Learn to love yourself!”

7) Perrie On Dating One Direction’s Zayn Malik
“[To survive long distance} we talk to each other every day either on the phone or on Skype. I think keeping each other updated on what’s going on and having something to talk about is the main key. I always save my funny stories to tell him!”

“When it comes to dates, I just like going to the cinema or having a night in. I can’t stand fancy restaurant meals because I just get embarrassed because I’ll get food all over myself. Things like bowling, shopping, or going to the park are less awkward.”

8) Perrie’s Fashion Formula
“My style icon is Kelly Kapowski from Saved By The Bell. I also like Madonna’s style when she was quite punk. I like Kelly’s colorful style, especially for summer, but in the winter I try a bit of Madonna’s style.”

9) Jade’s Worst Date Ever
“This boy I really fancied in school for ages finally asked me to the cinema and I was so excited. But when I got there, I saw that he invited about 20 other friends. It was so awful!”

10) Jade’s Secret To Preventing Beauty Blunders
“I’m obsessed with gel eyeliner. I discovered it this year and use it every single day. It’s much easier to put on than liquid eyeliner! I also love eyelash glue as well, because fake eyelashes can fall off quite easily otherwise. There’s nothing worse than a fake eyelash being stuck to your forehead!”

Thanks to Seventeen Magazine for the interview!

Curly hair on the rise thanks to Little Mix's Jesy and 1D's Harry Styles

Looks like Jesy Nelson doesn’t only reach people’s hearts with her music (as part of Little Mix, but also there hair after a recent study confirms curly hair is in demand.

According to celebrity stylist, demand is up by 60% as girls want to mimic styles of Jesy Nelson and Harry Styles.

The top spots for perms are Liverpool, Manchester and Newscastle whereas Southern girls (London) seem to be copying the Duchess Of Cambridge’s hairstyle.

The perm was popular during the 80s (see Corrie’s Deirdre Barlow) but nationwide trainer Andrea, based at Liverpool’s Barbara Daley salon, says the average age of perm customers has now plummeted to 22.

She said…

“It’s the hottest style for girls in their teens and early 20s. Youngsters want to look more cutting edge than the straightened styles most people have.”

Little Mix talk to Huffington Post

Little Mix talk to Huffington Post

Little Mix sat down and talked to the Huffington Post about ‘DNA’, gaining respect and why being a girl is hard…

“There’s a lot of focus on our image rather than our music. Being a girl is hard,” says feisty Little Mix star Perrie Edwards.

“If we want to wear a jumper and it says something weird on it and everyone says ‘what are they wearing’, we don’t really give a crap,” adds Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

Little Mix became the first group ever to win the ‘X Factor’ last year, a feat that even JLS and One Direction didn’t manage. Now – almost twelve months later – their debut album ‘DNA’ has hit the shelves and they’re eager to be taken seriously…

Geordie singer Perrie explains: “We’re not worried about being “cute”, but we have evolved a bit.

“We still like dressing how we did on the show but we have grown up a lot. When we auditioned for the show, some of us were 17 so we’re obviously not going to wear the same thing.”

The girls’ latest music video for their current single ‘DNA’ (the title track from their album) sees them take on a vixen look in dark leathers, red lips and plenty of studs.

It’s a far cry from their bubblegum pop video for ‘Wings’, their number one single which sold over 107,000 copies in its first week.

But Jade Thirlwall insists: “Really, we think our music shows how much we’ve grown up rather than the way we look.

“When we brought out ‘Wings’, that was about having fun and all about just being girls and being who you are. And then ‘DNA’ comes out and it’s more about a darker side of us, but we also did ‘ET’ on the ‘X Factor’ and that was quite dark and that was the week we got the most votes.”

Perrie adds: “Our image is going to be commented on a lot at the minute because we’ve only got two songs out, but once the album comes out people will know our music more and hopefully respect us more as music artists. It’s just a matter of time really.”

Tulisa Contostavlos Praises Little Mix's 'Funky' Fashion Sense

The N-Dubz singer and X Factor judge admitted to Look magazine that despite designing her own fashion range, TFB, and being able to afford designer gear she is still a champion of the high street:

“I wasn’t really interested when I was in N-Dubz, but now I have me favourite labels. Ted Baker, Lipsy, Karen Millen and River Island are my top picks”.#

She continued, stating: “My style? There are two sides to it – young, fresh and glam and urban, edgy and pop. In the past year since going solo I’ve started finding myself when it comes to fashion”.

The ‘Young’ singer admitted she rarely looks at other women’s fashion style, apart from Little Mix, the band she mentored to victory in last year’s X Factor.

“I’ve never really looked at other women like that – Little Mix are the only ones where I think, ‘Oh, I love what she’s wearing’. They have a really funky fashion sense”.

Tulisa finished by saying, fashion is an expression of herself and she would never change the way she dressed for a man:
